
- If you plan to freeze spice cake leave the cloves out. Cloves get stronger when chilled.
- Use the wrappers from butter and shortening to grease cake pans.
- Sprinkle your cake plate with icing sugar or granulated sugar to keep the cake from sticking to the plate.
- Dust your cake with powdered sugar before icing to keep icing from running off your cake.
- A slice of apple under your cake dome will keep your cake fresher.
- Slice leftover cake into slice and freeze. Take out for lunches. The cake will be thawed by the time your ready to eat.
- Before rolling cookie dough chill for ½ hour. This makes it much easier to roll without sticking.
- For refrigerator cookies chill dough in empty orange juice tubes. The slices will be perfectly symmetrical.
- Use an ice cream scoop to scoop out cookies onto your cookie tins. Your cookies will all be uniform in size.
- When sprinkling sugar on cookies use an empty salt shaker.
