Jessie celebrates Father’s Day

Father’s Day at the North Pole is a fun day for Jessie.  The elves a plan a big party for fathersdaySanta since they consider him to be their honorary father.  Jessie loves the games, food and dancing that the elves plan.  But most of all Jessie loves the stories the elves tell about Santa.  This year she learned 8 new things about Santa from the stories.

  1. Santa loves the water but cannot swim.  He almost drowned near China one year when the sleigh made landing in a lagoon.
  2. Santa taught the Elves to limbo one hot summer day.  Santa called a halt to production and planned an impromptu party where everyone drank fizzy drinks and played in the sun.
  3. Molly’s pet name for Santa is Skittles.  No one knows where the name came from but she’s been calling him that for years.
  4. Santa once had a donkey called Wilfred.  He used to spend a lot of time trying to get Wilfred to follow him but the donkey was stubborn and refused to move.
  5. Santa goes to one mall each year and meets the children.  He says it keeps him up to date with the children’s wants and needs.
  6. Santa once sent the wrong emoji to Jack Frost.  He offended his old friend and Jack wouldn’t speak to Santa for a month.
  7. Santa never drinks coffee.  He once drank a whole pot and was up all night.  In the morning he snoozed through an important manufacturing meeting and order 10,000 too many tricycles.

Jessie’s favorite things about St. Patrick’s Day

  • The green cocoa Ms. Claus serves to the elves.  It smells heavenly and because it four-leaf-clovercontains no real chocolate Jessie gets to share.
  • Sack races across the manufacturing plant floor.
  • The laughter and smiles of the elves at the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.
  • Seeing Santa dressed in a green leather top coat and hat specifically made for the season.
  • The tales told by the Irish fairies that visit by Santa’s fire.
  • Dancing with Chloe at the Paddy’s day dance.
  • Clover Cookies.  There almost as good as Molly’s shortbread.
  • Irish music.  Jessie loves listening to Jaunty tunes.
  • A holiday for the North Pole.  Santa spends more time at home than he usually does on St. Patrick’s Day.
  • The homemade pot of gold in Claus park that actually is an old barbecue.  The the elves use to raise money for the local animal shelter.

Jessie celebrates pancake day

Jessie sniffed the air  with approval.  The scent of sausage and maple syrup filled the kitchen.  She trotted over to Molly’s stove and shoved her nose into Molly’s thigh.pancake

“Ooph,” grunted Molly. She turned to look at the dog. “Good morning, Jessie.  I see your nose is reliable as ever.  Just let me finish flipping these last few pancakes and then I’ll get you a treat.”  Molly hummed as she ladled some batter into the frying pan.

Jessie sighed and flopped onto the floor.  From the very edge of her eye  she spied a plate of sausages on the table.  They were oh so tempting and close to the corner of the table.  Jessie slid over to the table and looked up. Her mouth watered and she whined trying to get Molly’s attention. Continue reading Jessie celebrates pancake day
