Santa’s favorite Christmas ornaments

  1. A toy train that plays Christmas Carols.  It reminds him of his childhood playing under the Christmas tree.
  2. An electric Ferris wheel.  Santa and Molly went on one of their first dates to the Western Fair and Santa sneaked a kiss from Molly.  The Ferris wheel reminds him of that night.

  3. A bird in a nest given to him by his niece.  She saved up her pocket money to buy Santa the present.  It always warms his heart to see the little bird on the tree.
  4. A series of shiny stars that Molly quilted out of silver fabric.  They light up the tree and twinkle off the lights.
  5. His nativity scene.
  6. A cowboy boot.  Santa received it as a gift from a farm that he purchased cheese from or the Christmas baskets.  The farmer became one of his friends and Santa admired his fine leather boots when he saw him.  His friend gave him the boot ornament for his birthday.
  7. Twinkle lights.  The beautiful specks of light give a peaceful atmosphere to Santa’s tree.
  8. A personalized ornament of Santa, Molly and Jessie taken at the beach.  Everyone in the picture is smiling on a windswept afternoon.
  9. A doughnut.  Make of glass it reminds him of his trips across the road with Jessie to the cafe.  the owner gave him the ornament as an advertisement for his business but Santa still likes it.
  10. A banner for the North Pole Ski team.  Santa loves to watch them compete.  The miniature banner always goes near the top of his tree.
Countdown To Christmas Eve!

Molly’s Cinnamon Christmas Tree Ornaments

1 cup cinnamon

2 tbsp ginger

1 tbsp cloves

1 tbsp nutmeg

3/4 cup applesauce

2 tbsp white school glue

Mix ingredients together to form a dough.  Knead until smooth.  Roll out dough onto a non stick surface.  Use cookie cutters to cut out stars, hearts or preferred shape.  Ice cube molds in various decorations can also be used to shape dough.  Just fill the ice cube trays and pop out the shapes.  In the tea cup pictured above there are small pumpkins that were pressed from a pumpkin ice cube tray.

For hanging ornaments use a straw to poke a hole in the dough.  Bake in 250 degree Fahrenheit oven for an hour and a half.

Beads, shells, and Christmas decorations may be glued to the ornaments to enhance the look.

To make a shiny surface a sealer may be used.  Only use the sealer on one side of the ornament to ensure the cinnamon scent lasts.

String the ornaments on raffia, old fashioned string or ribbon.  When scent diminishes a light sanding with sand paper on the back of the ornament will bring ht escent out again..

Christmas Eve Countdown!

July 26th – The Christmas Ornament Factory

The trees glistened with lights, shiny balls and angels.  Specialty ornaments including birds, animals, sports team logos and cartoon characters lined the walls of the building.  From somewhere above, Christmas music rang through the air as workers filled boxes with orders.

“We have been able to gather ornaments from around the world.  We carry mostly glass, porcelain and china but we can obtain other materials if required.  What can we do to help you Santa?” A stout man, the owner of the Christmas ornament factory, leaned against a forklift and smiled.  He glanced down at Jessie and shuffled a little away from her. Dec. 23rd Jessie, Santa and Molly celebrate Christmas

With a swoosh the tree toppled over onto Santa’s head.  It was mid-afternoon and Santa, Jessie and Molly were celebrating their own Christmas before Santa would deliver toys to the children of the world.  Santa and Jessie had gone to the tree lot and picked out a real fir tree to put up in their home earlier in the morning.  But, Santa’s tummy had grown over the last few days and he was having trouble getting the tree to stand up in its stand.

Santa sighed and scratched his head.  He grunted as he stood up and lifted the tree once more.  He slid the base of the tree into the hole and then tried to lean it on the wall as he slid down to the ground to tighten the screws on the slim trunk.
